Hi - the idea for a city-based web site is a good one, and I hope more citys emulate it. I think this site(charlottetown.webcity.org) should have links to other relevant sites, such as the various PEI tourism sites, and also Charlottetown specific. For exampel, I have a question for the councillor responsible for Parkdale, but I don't know where to address it.
For the record, my question concerns the various "NO TRUCK' signs that are scattered around the city. These signs exist on Mount Edward Road, between Belvedere and Allen St. This area of Mt. Edward Road is essentially residential, which I presume is the reason for these signs. Commercial traffic should utilize University Avenue and Saint Peters Road, whicn are both heavily commercial.
A police patrol on this section of Mount Edward would make a lot of money for the city. Dump trucks, tandem trailers, oil and garbage trucks using this as a through street, and especially the backhoes and payloaders that inexpleciably use this street EVERY day should be directed to an alternate route.
Please advise me by the end of August how you have dealt with this problem. I hope that this does not feel too demanding, but I feel that the passing of this question to a colleag does not constitute an answer, unless you also agree with this answer. I hope that all of Charlottetown Council is involved in answering this question, since it involves how local laws are enforced throughout the city.
